X-Ray Beam Shaping Control Software

Development of a graphical control application for interfacing with a custom small animal radiation beam shaper called the Sparse Orthogonal Collimator (SOC).

Together with the project lead investigator, Kaley Woods, I outlined the requirements of the control interface and develop an alpha version which includes one-to-one manipulation of each of the 8 independent tungsten leafs, and coordinated updates according to an optimized sequence of leaf configuration. Beam dwell times are included in the optimized sequence definition, and the control interface features automatic advancement of the leaf sequences to provide delivery of the anticipated distribution of radiation.
